has been rockin’ since about the age of five. Her first experience with music was with her father in the basement jamming to “Rock and Roll all Night”. Soon after, she began playing the violin for school and entered choir in fifth grade.
Not long after she joined the Paul Green School of Rock in St. Paul Minnesota, a national music program that successfully teaches kids from 8 to 18 to perform live at real musical venues. The school of Rock performances include GB Leighton’s Pickle Park and The Rock music night club. After a few seasons of School of Rock Ali auditioned and was accepted into the “Road Crew”, an elite group of musicians within the School of Rock that play live shows throughout the Twin City area. The “Road Crew” performances include, First Avenue main room, Varsity Theater, Taste of Minnesota.
Ali was hugely interested in performing and recording original tunes along with her brother Mike(Derf). Soon after she and her brother made the trip the Vancouver B.C. to Fuse Productions to record their first album “Ali”.
Ali‘s inspirations include: Kiss, Queen, Ozzy, ACDC, Journey and her father. Ali enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, and hanging with her friends. She loves traveling with family and exploring new places and meeting new people. Ali enjoys fun people with great personalities. In addition, jumps at the thrill of a great challenge, she recently picked up playing the bass guitar and is lovin’ it…. One thing is for certain…. She embraces singing her heart out and performing live!!
Mike (Derf) was born with a guitar in his hands! He defines the rocker that never puts his axe down! Mike first started playing violin at the age of 7. After playing his music on violin like the guitar, his parents decided to put him in lessons. Mike took to it like a duck to water and has been playing since the age of 9 years old. Bass guitar and drums are now added to the list of musical talents.
He is involved in Orchestra at school and the Paul Green “School of Rock Music” in St. Paul, Minnesota, a music school that has been successful in teaching kids from 8 to 18 to learn various instruments and perform at live venues throughout the twin city area. He was invited to audition for “The Road Crew”, an elite group of musicians from the School of Rock student body. He is now a member of the group and lovin’ every minute of it! “Road Crew” plays many gigs in and around the Twin Cities, including First Avenue in Minneapolis, Taste of Minnesota, and Varsity Theater, GB Leighton’s Pickle Park.
Mike enjoys writing original licks on both bass and guitar. His influences include: Randy Rhoades, Eddie Van Halen, Green Day, Motley Crue, Yngwie Mamlstein, Mike enjoys looking at cute chicks, lighting off fireworks, wakeboarding, wake surfing, video games, playing gigs, going to live shows, performing live shows. The way Mike sees it “Keep rockin’ or die tryin’”!!!
